Foggy was silent for a few minutes. Matt could smell the tears on his face, but his voice, when he finally did speak, was sparking with anger. “I don’t regret what we did.” He wasn’t speaking loudly, but he sounded stubborn, like how he sometimes got on the rare occasions that he and Matt had a difference of opinion on something.
That was the thing about Foggy, the thing that drove Matt fucking crazy. He was sweet, but he wasn’t soft. Everyone looked at him and saw a kid who was cheerful and funny and easy going and they underestimated him. Foggy was easy to underestimate. They didn’t see the side of him that Matt saw. The glint of steel underneath all that softness. Nobody else saw it. Nobody but Matt.
“I’m sorry that you regret it.” Foggy sounded tearful, but his voice was firm. “But I don’t.”
Matt wakes up in Foggy’s bed the morning after the school dance and promptly has a panic attack.

“Are you sniffing me?” There’s a laugh in Foggy’s voice, inviting her in on the joke.
Matty doesn’t much feel like laughing.
She ducks her head lower, lips grazing the shell of Foggy’s ear. “Yes.”
She hears Foggy’s breath catching slightly, the slight creak of her office chair as she shifts, spreading her knees a little wider. “I’m sure I don’t exactly smell like roses.” She sounds apologetic, the foolish girl. “It’s been so warm lately.”
“You don’t smell like roses, no.” Matty finally gives into temptation, and presses her mouth to Foggy’s ear, to her jaw, nosing down the creamy column of her throat. “You smell like yourself.”
“Very eloquent of you.” There’s a definite hitch in Foggy’s voice now as Matty presses a slow kiss to her pulse, thudding warm and steady in her neck.
“It’s good.” She hums, kissing a slow trail across the line of Foggy’s collarbone, exposed by the low cut of her blouse. “Sweet. Like you.”
Or, Matty gets a craving. Her girlfriend indulges her.

James pressed one hand to his chest and affected a little bow. “You flatter me.”
Sherlock shifted his chair an inch or two closer to James’, the little tart. His eyes were intent, and hungry. When there was something he wanted, he would pursue it until he’d chased it down, and then, once he had it in his teeth, he would be gone again. There was no point getting upset about it; he didn’t do it on purpose. It was simply the way the glittering, ticking machinery of the Holmeses was made.
“I could do more,” he said, quietly, “than flatter you.”
It was the sort of thing he said when he was only playing, but his gaze was steady.
“Careful, now,” murmured James. They weren’t the only people in the bar. “You wouldn’t want me to get the wrong idea, would you?”
