Number one rule for working the night shifts at the sketchy gas station in the middle of butt-fuck nowhere was to not look at them, and they would leave you alone. They weren’t even supposed to see you if you didn’t look at them - just flicker the lights, rattle some shelves, and inflict the fear of death into your bone marrow.
Then, one night, one of them with stupid eyebrows and a serious attitude problem chose to come in only to start yelling at Zoro, who had done literally nothing to deserve it.

Summary
Peter Parker, like any 14 year old superhero mutant, really wants to catch a break. And yet somehow, he never gets one. He's just a friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, nothing special, so what gives?
Well, that's only if you don't look at his biology ever since the radioactive spider bite. Or his extensive track record of running away from his guardians and that he was homeless for a bit. Or the amount of people in his life that have died because he's some kind of bad luck charm. Or that his foster-dad is Tony Stark now.
Or the fact that he was randomly kidnapped one morning on his way to school, and now he's in an alternate universe with a bunch of strange vigilantes that keep stalking him.
He thinks they mean well, but they're really weird. Besides that Red Hood guy. He's pretty cool. Though something about them- especially Nightwing- is familiar, that's not important. He has enough on his plate right now, considering there are multiple people trying to upend the fabric of time and space. He can figure out the other details later.

Summary
“Nami-san, there are people here for the Sunny. Bring Luffy over here!” Sanji shouted, kicking a marine's face into the counter.
“No! You need to run!” Nami coughed harshly, and Sanji stilled, glancing at the den den mushi in confusion.
“But what about the ship?”
“They aren’t there for the Sunny! They’re there for-” The snail cut off when the marine lieutenant snapped the receiver back in place, and Sanji stood up to full height, watching the man carefully from the other side of the counter.
Marines filed into the room from both entrances, standing a respectful distance away from the lieutenant. The candlelight from the countertop flickered energetically, making the shadows of the surrounding soldiers dance on the walls of the galley.
Sanji narrowed his eyes at the lieutenant, watching the smoke rise up from the top of his cigar and disperse into the air as the silence thickened with tension. “You’re here for…?” Sanji asked through gritted teeth, making his irritation for cutting off his navigator known.
The lead marine shrugged easily, a large smile stretching on his face. “You.” He finished, “I’m here to save you.”
