Summary
After Viktor's break-up with Dmitri, Jayce finds himself slowly helping his best friend rebuild and heal after three years of watching Viktor love another man. Then an invitation arrives in the mail.
To Dmitri's wedding.
Six months their break-up.
To Viktor, the only logical response was to enlist Jayce's help to get back at his ex by bringing Jayce as Viktor's plus one.
Jayce, meanwhile, is absolutely using this opportunity to get Viktor to see he could do better than Dmitri.
(Like Jayce for example. He could do Jayce instead.)
No matter how many times Jayce had seen it, it always took his breath away.
And it usually meant trouble. “Jayce…”
Lots and lots of trouble. “Y-Yeah?”
“Come with me.”
'Anywhere,' Jayce’s brain immediately thought. “Of course.” Jayce kicked himself. As if that was much better. “Where are we going?”
“To my ex’s wedding.” Those eyes of molten gold gleamed and Jayce found himself falling in love with his best friend all over again: “As my date.”

Jayce stares open mouthed from the doorway of the lab. A man who looks strikingly like Viktor is standing by Viktor’s desk, looking through Viktor’s notes, muttering softly to himself in Viktor’s voice. He’s even using Viktor’s cane. But it can’t be the real Viktor. He doesn’t wear clothes like that and he doesn’t style his hair in that way and he definitely doesn’t wear jewellery.
Except, today, apparently, he does.

Summary
Viktor’s life has prepared him for a great many things, just not for the particular situation of accidentally walking in on Jayce—his roommate, best friend, and unfortunately also the very heterosexual object of Viktor’s very homosexual desires—jerking off naked in bed.
That is as unexpected as it is agonizingly awkward but at least something Viktor could rectify by graciously laughing it off as the perils of university roommateship. A funny story for them both to have a hearty chuckle about afterwards.
However, the part that will make this difficult is that Jayce isn’t in his own bed.
He’s in Viktor’s.

When Lizzy Bennet pretended to her new coworkers that she had a boyfriend, it was only to get Will Collins off her back. When she pretended that boyfriend was Darcy, well, it's just that she panicked and his was the only name that popped into her head.
Sure, she hated the guy and usually made no secret of that fact, but she wouldn't make a big deal of the ruse at work. It would fizzle out in a week or two, and Darcy would never find out, so no harm would be done.
