    Christ. All he wanted to do tonight was curl up with Jackie on the couch but somehow he was instead looking down the barrel of a night at Rozanov’s.

    Though… an evening of just him and Shane did sound really nice. Like how it used to be, back when Lily was just a mysterious girl in Shane’s phone, so far removed from anything real and tangible.

    “You sure he wouldn’t mind?” Hayden asked. Not that he really cared if Rozanov minded, but it was the polite thing to inquire.

    Besides, now Hayden was kind of curious to see the hole in which Rozanov inhabited. Maybe there’d be primitive cave drawings on the walls.

    JJ didn't think the others saw it. Hayden, maybe, but Jackie was the only WAGs's name Shane had committed to memory so Hayden never brought it up. JJ didn't have a wife or girlfriend. He had his hookups and the names of the best restaurants in each city they player in. If JJ had a dog, Shane would probably mix its name up with Drapeau's. The others didn't get that however pathetic or sad they might think Shane, Shane thought the same of them tenfold when they missed shots at practice or ate fast food on weekdays. Shane wasn't being prissy or funny when he said, don't embarass me—JJ still doesn't know exactly what it was, but he doesn't care to find out.

    Shane had poured everything into his team (possessively: it was his team) and he asked them to give it back that day, so they delivered. When Shane smiled at them afterwards, it felt like love.

    A second, then a blur. Ilya knocking over one of the kitchen island stools to engulf Shane. His shaking frame holding Shane so tight, Shane felt himself shaking back. He could only hold on back, just as tightly.
    “Please.” Came the strangled voice by his left ear. “Please, tell me.”
    And who was Shane to ever deny a wish of Ilya Rozanov.
    “I’m signing to Ottawa. Tomorrow. If you would want to come with.”
    And then Ilya was shoving him back, holding him close to his face. “Of course. I drive. Of course I come.”
    Or
    Shane, fed up with Montreal, signs to Ottawa before their relationship is revealed. While he doesn't plan on keeping that a secret for long, he asks Ilya to let him get to know the team first, before they come out. To maybe have a normal season. Meanwhile, the rest of the Centaurs are going crazy trying to figure out what is going on between their captain and Shane Hollander and why they keep showing up in the same car??

    The problem is that Shane’s not just a sweet, occasionally funny, soon to be famous millionaire. He’s also fucking hot. He’s got these warm brown eyes, perfect skin, and abs. Actual, literal abs.

    But when Jessica licked them last week, he didn’t even get hard. He said he was too stressed about the scouts coming to his next game. Her entire Centaurs loving family would be disappointed in her, but she’s really starting to hate hockey.
