James laughed, but sadly. “But it’s Sirius and Remus together, and Peter and Mary MacDonald are dating now, and I’m,” he looks at her with bloodshot red and glossy eyes and he smiles with self deprecation, “now I’m all alone Lily.”
“You have me,” She says before she can stop herself.
“You don’t love me the way I want you to love me, Lily.” James says quietly, looking away from her.

Daemon Blackfyre shouldn’t be as niche as he is in fanfic. I think this does such a fantastic job of telling his origin and giving him a believable tragic backstory.
There’s such a great scene between Aemon Targaryen and Daemon where they discuss the difference between great and good men and how you can only be one. Daemon is put into a situation right after where he makes the decision to be great instead of good, and I found that so well written.
Anyways, this is great. Def the best fic I’ve ever read with Daemon.
