She regarded him carefully, “You don’t know where I’m going.”
“I’m assuming Shiz, considering we’re close to campus.” She narrowed her eyes but did not contradict him.
“Stranger danger.” She whispered sarcastically instead.
“In that case, my name is Fiyero.” He extended a hand, “See if you introduce yourself, then we won’t be strangers anymore.” He smiled crookedly.
“What are you playing at?”
“Its late, its dark,” He leaned in and whispered playfully, “and rumor has it there’s idiots on Horseback trampling young ladies. Our apologies. Once again.”
A puff of air out of her nose.
Was that a laugh?
“Elphaba.” She supplied, somewhat reluctantly.

Elphaba is at Colwen Grounds for the Summer and she just can't fit her feelings for Fiyero inside her heart anymore, so she writes them on her diary as if they were letters she will never send him, without mentioning his name.
Nessarose invades her sister's bedroom and reads them. Quickly putting two and two together, she knows who she's talking about, so when Fiyero and his father come to Munchikinland during the break for political reasons, Nessa gives him Elphaba's letters...
OR
5 times Elphaba wrote on her diary exactly what she felt for Fiyero and exactly what she wanted him to do to her + one time Nessa gave him what she wrote.

"Falling unconscious was supposed to be a mercy. A blessing, a way to protect yourself from the turmoil and anguish you were facing. It didn’t work that way for Elphaba though. She’d tried, she’d poured everything she had, every trick in that cursed book, every ounce of power she possessed into trying to save Fiyero. In the end it had amounted to nothing but hazy flashes of what they were doing to him dancing across her eyes, and an angry vow to never do anything good again. Collapsing to the cold stone floor of Kiamo Ko, she’d barely registered Chistery and the other monkeys wrapping a cloak around her before her eyes slid shut."
A time-travel fix it fic, where Elphaba collapses after No Good Deed, but doesn't wake up exactly where she expects she would have....

Shiz isn't worried about pairing Fiyero with the green girl because they assume he won't want to fuck her.

“I think it actually is,” he murmurs, pausing to sink his teeth into her stomach in a way that will startle but not mark. Elphaba yelps and then moans as he licks over the spot to soothe the sting, and Fiyero’s smile grows, triumphant, at the noise. “I think, sometimes, you know exactly what you want — but you don’t know how to ask for it.”
Elphaba scoffs, though the noise is decidedly less full of her usual irritation. “No, I definitely came here to study.”
Fiyero pulls back, hands on her hips and lips bright red and shiny with spit as he stares at her, blue eyes dancing with amusement.
“Oh okay, my bad. Let’s just—”
