Why would you say that?” her voice is soft, smooth and calm, even if she feels anything but. There is something close to irritation filling her, disbelief turning to anger. Naruto drops her gaze, shaking his head as he looks down.
“You’re basically a princess, and I live in this one room, with cracked walls and barely anything and how could I possibly be good enough for you?” He asks, voice almost a whisper.

“Shit. I have a list. That I carry around. So I know what to ask, but I left it in my jeans.” He looks at her, head tilting apologetically.
“The prettiest.”
Hanabi gasps as if completely shocked, the way only children can, before slapping him in the gut.
“Naruto! You can’t say things like that to someone who isn’t your soulmate! It’s taboo!”
Naruto’s eyes are warm, so bright, and glued to her.
“Good thing I didn’t then.”

The burden which the title of heiress carried had been caging her ever since the time she hadn't even been able to understand. And made her the outcast in her own nest. Simply because she was just being herself. She always did her best, he also knew that. She didn't meet their expectations and they disregarded her worth. Something they didn't have the fucking right to. It wasn't home. Home should not be like that.
But, for someone who had been through so much, experienced hell and back, and cheated deaths, she managed to stay true to herself. To keep her hold on the kindness she always managed to offer the world. Despite the things the world had been giving her in return.
