⋆⁺₊⋆ 𓃹 ⋆⁺₊⋆
A dark, hooded figure emerged from the dense snowstorm, growing far too tall as it approached. You shuffled back weakly in the bloodstained snow and winced as you jostled the trap clamped on your boot.
“What is this?” the man’s voice rumbled, muffled behind his mask. “You are…not what I expected to catch today.” He crouched and cupped your cheek reverently, as if you were a tiny creature whose delicate bones would snap at a too-rough touch.
You flinched at first — but he was warm, so warm.
“You are very far from home, aren’t you, Kleines Häschen?” he mused, honeyed words drawn out slowly as you relaxed into his palm. “Come, let me tend to your wound. Rest by my fire, just for a little while.”
The man scooped you up from the snow, unresisting. Sleep whispered sweet temptation as you were cradled to his chest, lulled by the blood loss and his steady steps. You gave in to the beckoning darkness, and allowed your heavy lids to close, like he said—
just for a little while.

A widespread infection; a lonely chemist.
She's survived this long, but the infected are growing stronger, and it's only a matter of time before she joins them.
It's easy for her to understand that she could do with a team at her back, to accept her help. But will the team she stumbles across be able to admit that they need her help as much as she needs theirs?
And will she allow herself to admit that it's not just their help that she will end up needing, but something far more dangerous, and harder to ignore. -

Ghost was hardly a man. Maybe half a man at best, twice your size and a beast at heart... or so he said. Half man, half giant. He had to be. Yet you couldn’t bring yourself to get him to go. Not after what he did. But it’s been two weeks. A man should move on.
Then why do you find yourself inviting him in?

They shouldn't trust you. You wouldn't trust you if you experienced what they did. You know things you shouldn't - you know names, places, and events that hadn't even happened yet and something dumped you in a strange forest, face-to-face with a trio of trolls and a company of armed strangers.
Stuck in the middle of a king's quest to reclaim Erebor, you're now navigating a world both familiar and foreign at the same time. Not to mention the growing tension between two brothers who are far too invested in your presence amongst the group. Every step toward the Lonely Mountain is a choice you're making but are you important enough to rewrite a story that already has an ending?
Can you choose between the two Durin brothers? Do you even need to?
