Summary
Morty didn’t have to be a genius to know that Rick hated it: keeping mom and Summer in the loop. And honestly she wasn’t entirely sure why he put up with it. Before (before before), if they disappeared for days on end he couldn’t care less what people thought of it. He’d leave mom and… and everyone else to worry about them or not – though usually it was not.
But ever since – since things had changed he’d text someone around dinnertime with an update – he even had an alarm programmed onto his watch to remind him since it was rare that evening on earth coincided with the time table of whatever planet or dimension their adventures had taken them.
And it was strange… strange to see Rick being so… conscientious.
But in all that time, on all those adventures, Morty never realized how much Rick was playing along, how much it was for her benefit, or how much taking away that small favor could upend her entire life - not until the school field trip.
(Or the one where Morty makes the slightly uncomfortable adjustment to living under Rick's thumb.)

Footsteps scrambled on the landing and Rick turned to watch a scrawny kid half-stumble down the stairs. Yellow shirt, blue pants, and a red headband holding back long brown hair… wait what?
Morty came to a dead halt on the last step, eyes wide and glued on Rick. “What – Who’s this?” Morty asked and the voice wasn’t quite right, it wasn’t the voice he heard from every second person on The Citadel. It was a little higher, a little more feminine, and suddenly Rick was realizing he hadn’t done nearly enough research before he’d knocked on the door.
“I’m your grandpa, Rick,” he answered before Beth could make the introduction, his brow furrowing because what? How did he stumble across an anomaly like this?
“This is Morticia,” Beth supplied, gesturing to her youngest child. “Morty for short.”
U-694’s Morty wasn’t a Mortimer, she was a Morticia. Holy. Fucking. Shit.
(Or the one where Rick τ-314 discovers the trouble of pairing up with the multi-verse's rarest Morty.)

Summary
In the present times, Bruce Wayne and Lex Luthor are at war with one another (though the public is unaware of it) because of what happened in the Vicky Vale's Exclusive's storyline (see previous part of the series).
A crisis in Gotham sends Green Lantern, J'onn J'onzz and Superman back in the past to stop the destruction of Earth. They unfortunately have to deal with a too joyous young adult Oliver Queen, a moody, enraged and out of control teenager Bruce Wayne and an overly curious young adult Lex Luthor.
Green Lantern is happy he might get some blackmail material on Batman. Superman has an harder time dealing with both his best friend and his worst enemy than in the present (which is, in itself, quite an achievement). His only good news is neither of them have Kryptonite yet. J'onn J'onzz wishes everyone, especially himself, will forget about the trip to the past.
The superheroes also have to deal with a depressive villain. This should be easy...

Then, Lex Luthor, the human dictator, has some business to attend with Kal and he seem to know more about Night's previous life.
