Summary
I miss Xehanort, he thinks absurdly. At least Xehanort was more or less straight forward. I want to call Kairi, he thinks a bit more logically. His mother smiles hesitantly at him, toddler perched on her lap.

With Xehanort defeated, the Destiny Islands Trio makes their way back home to rest. But fitting back into their old lives is harder for some. While both of his friends seem to take the change in stride, Riku struggles to find his place on an island that seems to have no space for him, and to reconcile the person he is with the person he was. Then there's also Aqua's request to fullfill. Trying to re-define himself yet again, and finding potential keyblade wielders while he's at it, Riku will soon notice that Sora and Kairi are facing their own struggles.

In nearly every way (except the most notable), the Princess of Hyrule was the Goddess incarnate. For that reason alone, it was a little ingenious for the King to offer up his daughter’s hand to whoever was able to pull the sword.
Link hadn’t meant to pull the sword. He planned to watch as his comrades pulled with all their might, perhaps even tease a few about how it was all for the better that the sword didn’t budge, because surely no Princess could ever love their ugly mugs, and then get into a good old-fashioned wrestling match with their bruised egos after one too many jokes. But it hadn’t mattered what he had in mind; Link’s plans be damned. The Goddess had already plucked him out of obscurity and set him along Her own path.

This was a ride from start to finish. It's one of the most heart warming, twisted, atmospheric fics I've ever read.
It's WORK to read, because Hannibal is... very Hannibal about a lot of things and it's emotionally exhausting sometimes, but there's always a payoff. I'm sad that it ended, but I'm more than satisfied with how everything panned out.
Both young Hannibal and older Will are different from canon in absolutely believable ways. They make sense. They're charming and horrifying in ways you'd definitely recognize.
I'm not sure I'll ever find a younger!Hannibal/older!Will-verse that measures up.This causes fic hangover for sure.
