Kate's been fighting her awkward way up the chain of Ascension Arcadia until one last fight stands between her and a prize that means more than the silly tin crown--freedom of the souls stored in the Arcadion's depths, and a cure for the soul-rot that plagues the young fighters who've become her friends in spite of (more likely *because of*) not knowing a thing about her past. Her biggest challenge? She can't just fight her way to the cure--she has to *sell it.* She'll be judged on her showmanship...and she can't act her way out of a paper bag.
But the gauntlet's been thrown and when she meets the opponent who threw it she quickly realizes that her problem won't be that she can't act--it'll be that she *isn't* acting. The gloves are off and so are the filters in the lead-up to the match, and it's even odds as to whether the pants will come off, too...

It's the office Christmas party and 'Martin Vaughn' has everything he could want for Christmas--a successful media company that just finished buying another successful media company, the perfect formula for slickly-packaged chart-topping acts that sell out arenas worldwide...and finally, possession of a contract with Pete Wentz, multimedia superstar. His only Christmas wish this year is to take that contract and tear it to pieces along with Pete's career.
The same way he tore up Patrick's heart a decade ago.

Pete's got a big hole in his life and it just can't be filled with selling gutter guards or filling in for scene bands or fizzling out yet another bad relationship. Christmas spirit should have just enough girth to really fill that hole...except that as far as Christmas spirit goes, Patrick's so over being left alone for silent nights after the miracle mornings.
