Summary
Opening a bakery was supposed to give Kai a break from his life in the Anacondrai Cult, but things get complex when Ninjas start frequenting his shop… especially a certain Black Ninja.
(Getting close will only make betraying them more painful, but as always... Kai has no choice.)
Meanwhile, Cole has been counting down the days until Mr. Chen’s Bakery opened. Not just for the pastries, but because he’s been a superfan of Kai Smith, charming celebrity ward of Mr. Chen, for years.
What he can’t figure out is why his teammate, Nya Julien, harbors a mysterious loathing for Kai. Whatever it is, she'll need to get over it when Kai is targeted by strange attacks and kidnapping, requiring the Ninjas as bodyguards.
If that wasn't enough, the terrifying Red Shogun is hunting down Elemental Masters. Cole hopes they can capture him soon so he can return to eating cake (and staring at Kai).
But things are rarely that simple...

A few things flutter in this world, like butterflies, or birds. Hearts and eyelids, if poetry is involved. And as far as Niibashi knows, stomachs don't usually flutter.
But his own just did.
He doesn't have time to process what that means, however, as the other boy continues, "oh, it's all good. I'm good down here. Just...I need a moment."
So Niibashi gives him a moment. Two moments. Three moments. Four—
