He felt as if he was being driven insane from the moment they shook hands. The contact felt so raw despite the separation of a glove. A rival, an equal, his antithesis. Made for him, seemingly, in his image. Every thought put behind into the back of his mind came back with a flourish under the influence of one Akira Kurusu.
Otherwise, a weirdly in depth character depiction of a creepy, obsessive Goro who will stop at nothing to have a claim on his rival.

“Good boy,” Goro uttered under his breath, as if he was studying the boy before himself, using his other hand to slot gloved fingers between slightly dampened locks and scratch over the surface of his head and pet behind as well as over the boy’s ears.
In response, Akira whimpered and leaned his head up into the touch.
“See? You do know how to behave.”

Summary
“Shit- ow, ow,” Kaveh whined pathetically as he attempted to raise his arms above his head in a simple stretch, one that only seemed to bring him more misery.
“Would you like help?” Alhaitham asked as he flipped the page. He was careful to keep his tone disinterested, lest Kaveh grow suspicious of his intentions.
“When are you ever helpful?” Kaveh grumbled in response, splaying his hands cautiously over his lower back with a hiss.
It wasn’t an agreement, but it also wasn’t a denial – just one of the many contradictions that made up Kaveh. Alhaitham closed the book whose title he'd already forgotten and set it on the coffee table as he pushed himself up to stand, satisfied enough with Kaveh's non-answer.
“I’ve been known to commit an altruistic act every now and then,” Alhaitham hummed.
Kaveh has been in pain recently, and Alhaitham has a solution in mind. His plan works as intended – Kaveh starts to trade his bad habits for healthier ones, but that’s not all that changes. Kaveh is acting friendlier, or perhaps something more than friendly. Alhaitham is skilled at weathering Kaveh’s contempt – he’s not sure he can survive Kaveh’s affection.

Alhaitham looked up from his book to level Kaveh with as unimpressed of a stare as he could muster. “Of course I haven’t experienced it. It’s not like anybody wants to kiss me.”
“You…” Kaveh frowned. “You really believe that?”
Alhaitham rolled his eyes. “Obviously. Nobody likes me, much less enough to kiss me.”
“That’s not true."Alhaitham doesn’t know a lot about kissing, or touching, or sex. Somehow, it becomes Kaveh’s job to teach him.

"Oh, come on. you gotta admit the one about you being a bad kisser made you a little mad," Kaveh simpers.
"We've never kissed," Alhaitham says through gritted teeth. The blonde's grin widens into malicious satisfaction.
"Exactly! I mean, as far as I know, its true. It's not a wholly unadvised conclusion, though. A person that doesn't smile just can't be a good kisser. You know I'm right."
Alhaitham's responding smirk is as devastating as it is handsome. Kaveh falters, his confident grin slipping.
"To surmise I'm a bad kisser means you first had to think about kissing me."
Kaveh's space is crowded suddenly and that grin is wiped off his face entirely now.
"Careful, Kaveh. Don't forget I've spent the last six months finding every hole in every argument you've ever made."
He hates Alhaitham. Hates him so much.
"Don't forget that I spent two years by your side," his rival says angling closer, "I know exactly how your mind works."
"I know how you study, how you eat, how you sleep," a hand reaches forward, cupping Kaveh's jaw, redirecting that avoidant crimson gaze back to him.
"And now, I know every thought behind your petty little rumors."

Summary
It doesn't matter what Kaveh does in his spare time. Really, it doesn't. If he wants to present his ass to every man that gropes it, that's on him. If he wants to stay up all night and work on commissions, or puke himself sick from all the liquor he drinks, or sleep on the divan all day—Alhaitham doesn't care. The issue is when it becomes a tangible reality, when Alhaitham runs into one of Kaveh's one-night-stands sneaking out of his house in the morning, or casually drinking his coffee in his kitchen, or moaning too loud for their too-quiet house.
The issue is when it becomes real and no longer an ignorable fact—when he is brought to realization that Kaveh is not interested in him and only in the easiest lays he can manage.
kaveh comes home drunk with a stranger. alhaitham is fed up with how it bruises him, and he makes the foolish mistake of letting kaveh know exactly how he makes him feel.
