Julie stands between Reggie and Luke—who grasps Alex’s hand—on the edge of the stage. She shares a delighted look with them both before dropping into a bow.
They’ve done it: Julie and the Phantoms have played at The Orpheum.
Luke, Reggie and Alex begin to rise from their bow but are instead surrounded in light as the now familiar spectre of pale-purple engulfs them. It burns for a breath longer than normal, the purple taking on a pink-ish then finally a glowing red hue. The colour finally blazes almost white, the crowd wince in the brightness then blink, and Luke, Alex and Reggie are gone.

Alex and Reggie get stuck in an elevator together.
That's it. That's the plot.
(They… don't have a lot of options here. None of the phantoms have phones, so it’s not like they can call anybody. No one can hear them scream. Actually, no one but Julie will even realize they’re in here, considering they’re twenty floors up in the air, and also invisible. To any guests or hotel staff, it just looks like an empty elevator has stopped working.
Who knows how long that could take to get fixed. Weeks, maybe.Weeks trapped in an elevator with Reggie.

So, Reggie's stuck in the washing machine.
It takes Alex a moment to process. No, he’s not phased through the washing machine; he’s literally inside of it, standing waist-deep in household appliance. Reggie’s got his arms braced on both sides of the machine, as though balance is precarious. When he tries to squirm, his knee hits the inside of the machine with a heavy metallic clank, and he winces.
Alex plants his hands on his hips and stares them both down.
Reggie breaks first. “Okay, it wasn’t my fault!”
“What? Dude!” Luke rounds on him, betrayed. Alex fights the urge to scream.

“Yo!” Bobby hits the ground to avoid getting hit. The sneaker bounces harmlessly next to him, with a dull thud that might’ve been Bobby’s skull. Reggie’s already shrinking back, not bothering to see if his projectile hit its target. “Hey, asshole,” Bobby shouts, “what was that for?”
“You know what!”
Bobby goes over the past twenty-four hours, feeling out anything that might’ve made Reggie that mad. “No, I really don’t,” he says. “What’d I do?”
