Summary
The facility was all Tommy ever knew, the Facility saved them from the outside.
From the neglect of their parents, here they could learn and grow safely, and one day get a job- he hoped he could get it with his neighbours (and best friends), 345 and 347.
So what if they had never spoken to each other and didn’t even know each other’s names?
The facility had given him more than he ever deserved. For he was just a lowly hybrid, and they were generous and forgiving more than the outside would ever be.
Why would he ever need more?

Summary
One day he looks up from the scaffolding and realizes that he’s almost exactly at Jaeger height and has to wrap his hand tight against the metal to keep from stepping out into the air. Not because he wants to kill himself or anything, just because for a split second his mind felt that old equilibrium and he just knew he should be able to, should be able to walk straight across the valley in front of him and out into the sea and on forever until he finds whatever’s next.

Sonny gambles everyday.
After his accident, it was with money. As a driver, it was his life. Now, as a race strategist, he gambles with somebody else's. When he sees the car flip, all he can see is Monza and the flaming wreck consuming his driver, and he makes the decision right then and there that he can't keep doing this.
He’s done gambling.
Sonny comes back to APX GP and blames himself for Joshua's accidents. When a fissure forms between them, realizations are made and a relationship is given a chance.

Summary
Max always thought his sons would grow up to love racing. He supposed raising them in Monaco might not have been the best place to accomplish that. Tourists stood dazzled by the supercars rolling down the streets, but his sons only had eyes for the glittering ocean beyond. They didn’t care about the dips and curves of his polished trophies, only the raindrop shapes of the fish in the harbor that flashed silver on sunny days.
His boys looked just like him. Little twin clones, chubby-cheeked with wideset eyes and full lips. The same blond hair. He loved them with all he had.

Summary
“Don’t worry, we’ll figure it out,” Oscar uncharacteristically cuts him off, “It’s okay, whatever it is, we’ll figure it out,” he repeats, “I mean, even Carlos can win Australia after a surgery, right? There’s got to be some kind of medical wonder F1 money can buy. We’ll manage.”
Lando lets out a sharp, humorless laugh, stopping him before he could ramble on with another unhelpful idea. He swallows hard, his heart sinking lower with every second. "Osc," he starts, voice strained, barely above a whisper, "it’s cancer."

Summary
“I…it's just that there’s a race tonight, Osc.”
Something sinister snapped in his mind. Oscar’s fingers dug into the hard plastic of the phone, almost painful with the force of the grip. “Are you serious? You can’t–it’s one race, Lando.”
“Every race counts, baby,” Lando argued, though there was no real heat behind the words. They were almost pleading, begging him to understand.
But Oscar was tired of understanding.
He’d done nothing but understand their entire relationship, and look where it had gotten him.
*
Lando Norris. Two time Formula 1 world champion, McLaren golden boy, driver of the ages. And in recent years, loving husband and father.
Sometimes, Oscar wondered what labels the world would assign to him. Oscar Piastri. Loving husband and father, sure.
But was there anything else?
*
In which we explore the loss of identity that comes with being a WAG, a parent, and a husband.
