Summary
He stares longingly at Viktor, the soft curve of hair around his ear, the twitch of his brow as he works through his confusion of Jayce knowing his name. But of course Jayce does. Knows his name. Knows how long he can sit before he's too stiff to walk. Knows his entire list of dreams to stop suffering of others- all of it blindsided because Jayce’s obsession with the arcane came and ruined everything good in him.
“How do you-”
“I’m sorry.” Jayce isn’t ashamed that his voice breaks, his body shaking with all the hurt of a different timeline, “I never meant- I only wanted to save you.”
Post-Canon Fix it Timeline- Where Jayce can't let go how badly he messed up, Viktor needs a few reasons to break his cycle of withdrawing from others, and they both pretend they aren't the dumbest men in all of Piltover and Zaun combined.

Summary
Viktor never leaves Zaun. Instead, as Singed's protege, he draws the attention of Silco and ends up taken under the kingpins' wing, another stray in a makeshift family of outcasts and orphans.
With no one to stand by his side after the Council's ruling, a disgraced Jayce Talis enlists as an Enforcer and swiftly climbs through their ranks until he is assigned a mission befitting of the golden boy of Piltover's Police Force.
When a cadre of Enforcers barges in to the Last Drop demanding to speak with Silco, Viktor does everyone a favor by intervening in the conversation between them and his little sister before it can escalate to explosive porportions.

Jayce sits there, palms pressed firmly into his eye sockets, motes of light dancing across his vision, until he feels the adrenaline slowly subside. And if there is a faint tremor to his hands as he straightens up and wipes his clammy palms across his trousers, no one is around to notice. Viktor has left and Sky is… well. Sky is gone.
Viktor has left and Sky is gone and Jayce is alone.
(For now, he amends. Viktor will be back, Jayce is sure of it.)
