“I just,” Pomni whispered, doing this little slow-blink that drove him nuts right up at him, and his heart clenched. She seemed surprised to admit, “I can’t think of anything to say.”
Jax thought that someone could have driven a train through the place right now and still he wouldn’t have turned away from her. The truth was he didn’t have any ideas himself of what to say, but in disclaiming this herself she hadn’t said anything he needed to respond to, anyway. He could have stayed silent and they both would have been content with that, he thought. But her eyes were so open and honest and there was this squeezing feeling in his chest that felt deeper than a heartbeat, and he heard his own voice pipe up, anyway.
“I …” he whispered. Quietly admitting, “Me, neither.”

Summary
Pomni has been having dreams about Kaufmo for some reason. It escalates one night, where she dreams of them both on an adventure together, almost as if it were a memory. She puts the pieces together and realizes she is seeing through Ribbit's eyes.
All she needs to do is find out what they mean without letting Caine know she might be onto the way he manipulates their mind. This would be easier said than done if a misguided Caine didn't put her in a coma for an adventure. Pomni is stuck re-living various events of Ribbit's past in the circus and seeing different versions of Jax while Jax accidentally lets slip how much he’s unravelling to the rest of the cast.
or I emotionally torture Jax while giving Pomni an existential crisis for around twenty chapters. Ft Jax yearning with a British accent.
Technically set in an AU where Caine realises that making a fake exit was a bad idea and sucks up to the cast afterwards.
