Summary
Louis offers Lestat the joint. Lestat stares at it, hesitating.
"Go on," Louis says.
"Are you peer-pressuring me?"
"Mm-hm. I'm a real bad influence."
"Well," Lestat says, shrugging, "I can't say no to you."
Their fingers brush as Louis hands over the smoking joint. Ash falls in little specks onto the bed. Lestat places the joint between his plush pink lips, tipping his head back as he inhales deeply.
Louis licks his lips. He's overcome with the urge to climb on Lestat's lap and kiss his pale, exposed neck—but he's locked in place, his whole body heavy, weighted like an anchor undersea.
Louis and Lestat smoke a joint and go on an adventure across campus to get some food. Louis spirals about their relationship along the way.

Summary
Lestat moves slightly, taking Louis with him up a step and closer to the bedroom, and he feels Louis chuckle in his ear.
“I always feel weightless in your arms,” Louis sighs, throwing his head back to give Lestat access to his neck again. “I'm tethered to earth by gravity, except when I'm with you. You're so strong.”
His hand splays wide between Lestat’s shoulder blades, feeling nothing but rock-hard muscle, and Lestat almost reflexively jerks away, like always, lest he scare Louis with his inhuman skin.
“I won't hurt you.”
Lestat’s voice is so soft and so serious that it makes Louis pause beneath him. He's looking up at Lestat now, more tears shining in those brown eyes, and Lestat looks away in shame at the understanding that he sees blossoming in Louis’ face.
“Is that what frightens you? All the challenges? All the displays of this unnatural power? You've been daring me to back away for my own good?”
Lestat can't answer.
Louis returns to Lestat for more "little drinks" and Lestat grapples with his nature to protect Louis' fragile mortality.

Tough Cookie hadn't thought they'd end up famous, not really. But when a self-proclaimed vampire insisted on joining them they had skyrocketed into popularity too fast for her to keep up. She hadn't liked him, at first, but he had a way about him.
or; post season 2 situationship era, where lestat and co discover that maybe drugs aren't the healthiest way to process emotions. where louis is companion enough for himself, these days, but damn it if that blissful time between reuniting in new orleans and lestat reading that damned article hadn't been the most alive he'd felt in decades.

Summary
Louis was not feeling especially charitable towards him at the moment, so as far as true love’s kiss went (a cliche, as if getting cursed wasn't bad enough), Lestat would be getting nowhere.
But it didn’t matter at all. Lestat was scared and miserable and he had a tail and he needed to see him.
Lestat gets on the bad side of a witch. Louis, against his better judgement, gets a cat.
