The crack in Prowl’s voice as he spoke was spark-breaking, his conjunx’s remaining cool blue optic dimmed to almost nothing, accented by deep creases tracing beneath both of his sockets. The gaping wound that took the place of his left eye was dripping energon, lines reopened by the tumble he had just taken onto Jazz’s berth. The praxian looked like he had just walked through the pits and crawled through Cybertron’s crust to get back to the land of the living.
Frankly, if anything, he looked like the dead one.

The boy had dark gray circles under his eyes that he’d clearly covered up with makeup, but his unusually pale skin made the contrast too steep for foundation. He was also way too thin. It was all coming together to create a more unfortunate image in which Tim was silently struggling, but saving face for the sake of his image. It was admirable, if not incredibly unhealthy.
Dick says he just needs time. Jason says he’s rich, so he can’t be that sad.
Bruce says he’s depressed.OR
Tim thinks he’s being investigated by the Bats because he's a genius who secretly solves their cold cases, but an idiot when it comes to anything social. Bruce actually just wants to make sure Tim’s okay because he's a teenaged CEO with dead parents, and Bruce sees too much of himself in him.

It inhabits a host, twists them, immortalises them, and then reconfigures their instincts until the need to seek out new prey becomes as essential as breath once was.
At least, that's what scholars suggest.
Bruce often found himself lost in that theory, particularly during the long, restless stretches of night when his fangs ached with no clear cause. He wondered, with a distant kind of numbness, whether that persistent ache was really purpose. Was this why he longed, almost obsessively, for some unsuspecting human to wander into his path? Was it vampirism nudging him to seek out new life, to share his curse?
But even that thought felt incomplete. Deep down, Bruce knew it wasn’t just the hunger or the need to spread. He yearned for more than a victim. He craved a student."

Summary
Jason has a plan for his return to Gotham. Steal the clown's old Red Hood identity? Check. Make sure meddling birds know to keep out of his territory? Check. Recruit some homeless youth to keep an ear to the street in exchange for shelter? Check. Take over the Crime Alley drug trade, convince Black Mask to break the clown out of Arkham, murder his Replacement and force Batman to finally avenge him? ...he's still working on it.
His plans are delayed when the homeless kids he's sheltering are joined by a fearful boy with hand-shaped bruises around his neck. Alvin Draper may not want to say who did it, but Red Hood isn't about to let anyone who beats up children go unpunished.
