    Summary

Instead, he found another pre-dawn visitor, drinking lukewarm coffee from a tiny paper cup, chair tipped back to teeter precariously on its back legs. For a moment, Edgeworth stared at him, saying nothing, reaching reflexively for the handle of his briefcase where it was balanced on top of his rolling bag.

Shi-Long Lang raised a hand in greeting. “Good morning.”

    Summary

Barok seated himself but made no move toward the coffee. Across from him, Kazuma was picking at the edge of the paper—not out of nerves but out of detachment, the idle ritual of someone who didn’t intend to read it at all. And it was always this—these gestures without conclusion, this domestic half-life. The shared quiet was not camaraderie, not exactly. But it was honest. And for Barok, that had become a sort of necessity.

The fire gave a reluctant pop. Outside, something metallic scraped—a horseshoe on stone, perhaps, or the shifting of a carriage shaft. All of London, turning in place.

(In which Barok and Kazuma spend a winter in London, argue about the country estate, and navigate silences that speak too loudly.)

How Edgeworth applies for a job: smugly, confidently, remorselessly, and with plenty of snark. (And a not-so-secret obsession with a certain unnamed defense attorney.) Exactly like how he does everything else in life, really.

    Summary

A collection of fragments from Angharad Scott’s research and correspondence. In which another, less familiar, world is revealed, and stories are told.

I have stood in the shadows of the lamassu. I have explored a Palace of unending rooms, utterly silent beyond the rushing of waters below and the caw of birds above. Your stories are true — and more than that, they are only a fraction of the stories that can be told.
