Raph’s breaths came harsh and ragged, the snarl on his face making him look more like the impulsive, emotional brother Leo knew. For the first time since the turtles broke into Shredder’s lair and laid eyes on him, he looked like Raph again. Leo could feel the way his brother’s arms quivered through his grip on his katanas, and he fought to hide the optimism-relief on his face behind a cocky raise of an eye ridge.
Then Donnie cried out behind him, followed by a crash, and it all fell apart again.
AKA I thought the "mind-controlled Raph" concept in Clash of the Mutanimals was CRIMINALLY underutilized and should've lasted at LEAST a few episodes.

perfect pacing,, superbly heartbreaking n the subtlety of objects being used to convey emotions is ..CHEFS KISS !!! i adore the tragic notion of the boys being KIDS because they are literally children and the way that iz written here is devastating ough !! :( GOD just..,, so phenomenal ugh!! the art is absolutely gorgeous as well i literally have chap 16's piece as my phone wallpaper!!! author is an excellent writer,, i cannot put into words how floored i am by thiz fic (＾∇＾)ﾉ♪OUTSTANDING A++++
