It was 7 in the morning when Cole was woken up by the sounds of Jay in his room "Cole? COLE? COLE!!!" "what? What?" Cole shot up from his bed ready to fight, to his surprise all he say was jay holding 2 controllers and a new game "Cole come fast I got a new game that we HAVE to try" Cole rolled his eyes in frustration "did you really wake me up for this?" Jay shot him a stupidly confused look "well duh it's a matter of life and death" Cole scoffed and that statement, although irritated and tired Cole reluctantly followed Jay into the living room where he saw Zane, nya and Lloyd sitting and discussing a case, "oh hey Cole, glad to see you woke up even tho i told Jay not to but obviously he didn't listen" nya said glaring at Jay who was looking the other way "yeah well im awake now nothing we can do about it" replied cole, "good morning cole" Lloyd and Zane said simultaneously "morning, how did you guys sleep?" Cole asked "OMG I had the best dream, it was about nya and I-" cole cut him off "Jay not now i just woke up" "fair" Jay replied"
"Breakfast is ready" pixal called everyone to come, they were all hudled in the kitchen sitting and talking when Kai walked in half asleep, "good morning Kai, did u sleep well?" Nya asked with a obvious sarcasm in her voice, Kai just replied with a look that said "you know I didn't" as he walked to sit next to the only available seat, next to cole, now normally this isn't a problem but just recently cole discovered his crush on the fire master and ever since he gets way to flustered around him, so when Kai sat next to him he started getting a sort of natural blush, luckily for cole it was subtle but there was 1 ninja who saw it...nya
Throughout the whole breakfast she kept examining cole and the way he looked at Kai, she was sure and she was about to confront him.
After breakfast everyone went to do their thing and that was when nya took cole aside, now nya is a very straight forward person, she doesn't like to suger-code things so as soon as they weren't in a earshot of anybody she dropped the bomb, "do you have a crush on my brother" cole was startled and speechless he became redder then a tomato, nya knew that that was a yes but she wanted to hear it from him, "so..?" She said ushuring the boy to answer "I- um.. uh" cole sighed defeated "yes..."
Nya practically squealed with happiness she knew Kai also had a crush on him but she wasn't going to say it, there was an awkward silence and then nya continued "so... when are you going to ask him out...?" "What? No? I-" cole sighed "i still don't know if im gonna do it" nya frowned "why not?" "Cause he probably doesn't like me back" nya scoffed at that "and how do you know?" She asked him "I don't but im pretty sure kai's into girls" "he is" nya replied and before letting cole answer she added "and boys" Cole's face went from confused to realization in seconds "really? How do you know" "im his sister" nya replied with a cocky smirk "and he told me", cole was calculating things in his head "are you sure?" "Yes, you should totally ask him out" "I don't know it's risky ill think about it" and without letting her answer he walked away.
Cole was walking to his room when he bumped into Kai still confused by the interaction with nya he started to blush HARD, before Kai could say sorry he ran off, Kai thought it was weird.
When Kai got to his room he thought about it and realized those types of interactions happened often, 'is cole...mad at me?' Kai thought, he couldn't shake the thought, he tried to sleep, traine, go for a run... nothing, at the end he decided to take his motorcycle out for a spin.
for the most part it worked but while he was driving he got a call from nya "Kai where are you? We were worried sick you left without telling us" "sorry sis didn't feel so good so I decided to take a ride out with my motorcycle" nya sighed in relief "okay just don't come home late" Kai let out a chuckle "and I thought I was the big brother here" "Kai..." nya added in a agitated voice "fine fine won't be late promise, bye sis" and then she hung up.
When he came back to the manor he headed straight to his room and in the shower ignoring everything around him, as the water hit him he couldn't stop thinking about why cole was mad at him, 'I didn't eat his cake, didn't beat his top score, didn't pull a prank on him or anything of that sort... maybe cole realized Kai had a crush on him and wanted Kai to take the hint and step back' by the time Kai got out of the shower all appetite was lost..., when he checked the time he realized it was 1am and everyone is sleeping so he decided to sleep aswell, as Kai was laying in bed tossing and turning he could feel anger inside at him not at anyone else but... himself he pushed one of his best friends away because of a stupid crush, stressed and unable to sleep Kai does the only thing that can make him stop stressing as much bake.
Cole was in a daze tossing and turning thinking about how obvious he was and that kai probably also knows, hes too scared to show his face outside his room letalone to kai, he couldn't sleep at all so he decided to get himself a glass of water, as soon as he stepped out the room the smell of cakes and cookies hit him, he was slowly walking to the kitchen trying not to wake up the others and then as he stood in the entrance he spotted him the brunette but he has such a fat crush on, he was about to walk back already feeling his face warming up and then Kai spotted him he smiled and waved for cole to come and cole couldn't feel himself, he snapped out of it trying to sound and normal as possible "so what are you doing up so late?" "I could ask you the same thing" the brunette replied "yeah but your baking a bunch of sweets, why?" "I don't know just helps me" cole shot him a confused look but looked at Kai and saw his expression was of someone who didn't want to be asked further questions so he dropped it, Kai just pulled out a trey of cookies and saw cole staring at it intently, "those aren't for you" he said, cole was disappointed until he saw Kai pull out a chocolate cake "this one is for you" cole beamed with excitement and started to dig into the cake, Kai stared with amusement as the earth ninja devoured half the cake leaving the half for tomorrow, Kai thought about how cole was mad at him and before he could think about what to say he blurted "are you mad at me?" Cole looked confused staring at kai who was fidgeting "i mean you've been kind of avoiding me lately" he added and cole seemed to understand, cole sighed thinking 'oh fuck im actually gonna do it' cole got a little closer clearly nervous "well you see... it's because I can't stop blushing in front of you" Kai was now the confused one "why?" He asked "well because... I like you" Kai stared in shock and cole was ready for rejection instead kai took his face with both arms and kissed him right there cole was shocked but let into the kiss, as they were pulling apart cole said "so does this mean you like me back" Kai smirked and instead of answering pulled him into another kiss.
