Owen had found a child in his woods. The poor thing was covered in blood, coming from a big gash on his neck, soaking his shirt through and through. Cursed him and his soft heart, but he decided to help the boy.
Owen had already been cast out from the town. A lumberjack by trade, his sickness had seen him thrown from the grace of all who once knew him. His skin bore boils and tore easily, leaving terrible scars behind. Some said it was leprosy; others claimed a curse had been laid upon him. He should have simply brought the child to Oakhurst, let the townsfolk deal with him,barely eight years old, if his guess was right.
