Work Text:
The room was dead silent, no death eater dared to breathe, not when the dark lord sat menacingly at the head of the table. His eyes red with rage, as he slammed a book on the table.
The book had no cover, it was simply a pile of pages bound together. On the front of the paper, read ‘chapter 69: revival of lost love’.
“Now, I know some of you may be aware of this… literature.” Voldemort stated darkly.
“Hmmm, Lucius, would you read the first page?” He requested, as he levitated the copie to Lucius.
“Yes, my Lord.” Malfoy held the pages tightly, his eyes widening as they traced the page. He looked upwards at his Lord, just to make sure that he should be reading it aloud.
“We haven’t got all day, Lucius.” He warned.
Malfoy cleared his throat, before starting. “Snape,” Snape turned his head, how and why was he involved in this?
“Was the last death eater left in the room, it was just him and his Lord. It had been too long since they’d been all alone. Snape couldn’t even remember the last time they’d been,” More of the death eaters turned towards Snape, as his name got mentioned again, and again.
Snape didn’t like being unaware, but one thing he hated more than that, was being the centre of attention, especially in a death eaters meeting.
“Intimate.” The room was somehow quieter than before, but not because of fear, no, it was shock that fuelled the silence.
Who would write such a thing!
Why had the dark Lord made Lucius read it aloud, was it a test? Had someone at the table written it.
Why was Snape at the centre of this chaotic love story?
“Continue, Lucius” The dark lord ordered, his face neutral. Snape on the other hand, was finding it much harder to keep his composure.
“They held eye contact for much longer than they should, not a word was uttered between them. Until, “durum impulsum!” Voldemort cast a spell that sent Snape flying against the wall.” That was an unexpected revelation, death eaters inched off of their seats, listening to the story unfold.
“You betrayed my trust! You ran to Dumbledore like a whore, but no, it was not only him, was it, Quirrell, Lockhart, Peter Pettigrew, the list could go on!” Multiple jaws hit the floor.
Pettigrew was basically hiding behind the table. And Snape had no idea why he was involved in the book at all, but he did not like it.
“The dark Lord towered over Snape, wand pressed against the shorter man’s throat. But Snape kept calm, “I did not betray you.” Snape stated. “You do not get to tell your Lord how he should feel!” He thundered.”
Multiple death eaters were now heavily engrossed in the story, Bellatrix on the other hand, was staring daggers at Snape.
It wasn’t as if he wrote the damn thing.
“I’ve never betrayed you, I’ve done everything for the cause.” Snape stated calmly. “Oh? Having intercourse with every single man at Hogwarts was for the cause!?” Voldermort snapped. “Yes, the intel I’ve gathered, the… experience.” Snape's hand trailed downwards.”
At this point no one in the room was hiding how they felt about the literature, some death eaters were utterly drawn in by the narrative, a couple were disgusted, some were flustered, and others found it hilarious.
Snape was not a part of the few who were utterly drawn in by the narrative, nor did he find it hilarious. No, he was full of fury. He wanted whoever wrote it killed, and their head on a stick.
But it continued.
“Voldemort's hand latched onto Snapes, stopping it from going any further. “You will have to beg for it.” The dark lord whispered seductively into his ear. “Please, allow me… my Lord.” Snape looked up at him, with a sultry look. “Allow me…” his voice trailed off.” Lucius was way too invested in the book, for Snape's liking.
“Voldemort pulled out his eight inch-”
“That’s enough Lucius, that was the end of the first page.” The dark lord levitated the book back towards himself.
“Now I found this book in the possession of your son.” Lucius turned deathly pale. Snape on the other hand was wondering why his godson would have such a thing.
“This work is being distributed at Hogwarts, along with its many chapters. It seems as if these chapters are being made with a duplication spell. The author is unknown.” Voldemort pulled out many more chapters.
“The reason I have called you here today is because I want every single copie collected, and handed to me, so I can… destroy them.” The dark Lord explained.
“I want your children to find out the identity of the author, and I want the author brought to me.”
“That will be the end of our meeting.” He concluded.
They all cautiously got up, ready to leave the room.
“Snape, stay behind.”
