Summary
Shawn wasn’t jealous. Of course not. To be jealous, he would have had to think that those other guys had more than he had. Which they didn’t. Shawn could beat them all in a heartbeat. And he was going to succeed in his goal.
Because, even if Shawn couldn’t get Lassie to fall for him, he had one specific goal in mind.
He wouldn’t let Lassie get with another man. Not in a homophobic way– of course not.
But, he just wouldn’t. For his own personal wellbeing.

(Or, Shawn doesn't think he's a jealous man until he discovers that Lassie, the man he's had a crush on for months, is interested in men. At which point he promptly sabotages all of his dates, and tries to trick Lassie into falling for him instead.) -

“Shh.” Shawn placed a finger to Gus’s lips as he approached Juliet’s desk quietly, where her and Lassie were talking. He didn’t think Lassie had noticed him yet. He was shrugging on his blazer, tightening his tie as Juliet questioned him.
“So… what’s her name tonight?” Juliet grinned. Shawn ascertained that they were talking about Lassie’s dates. Was he going out with a new girl tonight? That was interesting.
“Felix.” Lassie rolled his eyes. That was weird. Did Lassie know that Felix was a guy's name? Probably not. Shawn should tell him that.
“Felix?” A look of excitement came over Juliet’s face. “Does that mean that you’re finally–”
“Mhmm,” he confirmed as he buttoned his blazer.“I’m giving it all I’ve got,” Shawn stated. “He’ll have no choice but to be totally into me.”
“Keep telling yourself that,” Gus muttered. Shawn paid him no mind. Gus never had faith in him, and he was going to learn just how wrong he was when Shawn demonstrated his fullest capabilities. “But jealousy isn’t a good look on you.”
That was laughable. Shawn wasn’t jealous. Of course not. To be jealous, he would have had to think that those other guys had more than he had. Which they didn’t. Shawn could beat them all in a heartbeat. And he was going to succeed in his goal.“Yeah, of course,” Gus responded. Shawn figured he’d be busy for a bit helping Juliet inside. He took a triumphant moment to bask in the glory, having thwarted yet another date of Lassie’s. Another job well done.
That was, until he felt a hand clamp down on the back of his neck, gripping firmly.
“Let’s have a little chat, Spencer.” Lassie’s voice was low and hot against Shawn’s ear. God, Lassie could be kind of intimidating when he tried. That didn’t make what was happening any less hot, though. He swallowed dryly and nodded. -
