I am a fanfiction connoisseur. I've been reading fanfiction for over 20 years and I love finding the best of the best and the little known fandoms that most people would think of. The stories I promote are the ones I literally think are the best in each fandom.
Everything I recommend in this space is complete. If it's not complete I don't read it, I've been doig this long enough to not trust incomplete stories.

They swam towards the direction of where the glowing light circle had been. They went as fast as they could.
A school of fish started swimming towards them. They flapped their flippers in a panic, trying to get away.
Except the fish didn’t hurt them.
No. Instead they swam around them. Light from above the water was shining through the surface and onto their scales.
Reds, pinks, purples, oranges.
They stopped moving their flippers and let the current the school of fish were making from swimming carry them.
The fish swam around them, almost as if saying welcome to the world.
What a strange, beautiful, new world, they thought to themselves as the colorful rainbow of iridescent scales floated around them.
Or: the story of the life of the turtle, from the turtle’s pov. From hatchling to a juvenile making new friends to a grown adult in a lonely, strange world.
