Sure, maybe he's been having more depressive thoughts recently- and the headaches, bloody noses, and terrible nightmares are getting worse- and sure, those are signs of Vecna's curse... but who else has to know but him?
Someone has to be fine, he can handle it. He always has. At least he's the one going through this and not any of the others!

November 3rd, 1987. As the party is on the hunt to find and kill Vecna, Mike is unexpectedly captured and taken into the Upside Down. When he wakes up to see that he has joined Max in Henry’s mindscape, he’s got no choice but to face the parts of himself he has long kept repressed in order to escape.
OR
I have decided that the best way to cope with that ending was to write my own version of season 5 purely out of spite, while attempting to fill every single plot hole along the way.

It’s his own language of Eden, taught to him by the God that only reaches out when he wants to take.
“Mike,” Will whispers back, and his voice breaks halfway through his name. His hands cup Mike’s face in that gentle but firm way they’ve all learned to hold things after they had been ripped away one too many times.

Will is the only one who can reach him, but saving Mike means walking through his worst memories and risking the one thing neither of them has ever been brave enough to name.
