“Hey, Eddie, where’d you say that tape was?” Steve called loud enough for Eddie to hear where he rummaged around in his room.
“Uh,” Eddie’s voice carried down the hall, “I might’ve left it in the van.”
Steve rolled his eyes at Eddie’s forgetfulness. “I’ll go grab it!”
It wasn’t in the glove box or in the player, nor in the piles of crumpled wrappers and notebook pages on the floor. He twisted around in the chair to check the back and froze.
There was someone in the back of Eddie’s van.

Someone tries to frame Eddie for another murder. Unfortunately for them, they didn't count on Steve Harrington dumping the body before it can be discovered.

Rage boiled hot through Steve's veins, through his chest, up his throat, trying to loosen his lips. He ground his teeth together and breathed in through his nose. Steve was just so fucking angry at Dustin. If he opened his mouth to talk, he was going to yell, he was going to scream, he was going to purposely hurt Dustin. So, he said nothing.

Steve comes to Eddie's trailer with a very personal problem. Eddie listens, compassionate and judgment-free, and proposes a solution. Completely selflessly, of course; he just wants to reassure Steve that there's nothing wrong with him, or more accurately, his dick. Except for the fact that Eddie's been pathetically yearning for his friend for months now, and is always greedy for whatever scraps of Steve Harrington he can get, even breaking his own heart in the process.
“I think… it’s all just about your state of mind, Stevie. Maybe you just need a different approach. Where there’s no stress, no pressure, just someone focusing on… you. No stakes, no expectations, no judgment on how long it takes for you to… get to a finish line, or even whether you enter the race at all, so to speak. Just let yourself feel good.”

“What’s– oh.”
The room isn’t too bad, considering. The carpet is a little worn down. There’s an odd stain on the desk against the wall. The curtains seem a little threadbare, like they’ve seen better days. But it’s clean and it’s warm and the lighting is soft, nothing harsh or glaring. The bed is made, the blankets thick and the pillows numerous and plush.
The singular bed.
The lone, single, one solo bed.
“Oh,” Eddie parrots.
Or, two best friends who are absolutely totally platonic get snowed in on a road trip. What could go wrong?
