He pulls back and confusion takes over his face. She knows that he is too well acquainted with the flat of her stomach to miss the difference, even if it’s just a bulge.
In the dim glow her living room lamp casts through the kitchen door she can witness the wheels turn in his head at light speed.
If this moment wasn’t so nerve wrecking she'd laugh at the look on his face.
