Summary
Staring at the empty bowl, the physical sensation of having something in his stomach did nothing to appease the unbearable feeling of being empty. Frustrated, hot tears started to form in his eyes, and he took a family-size bag of Narancia’s favourite chips out of the cupboard. Guilt built up in his stomach alongside the food, and he vowed to replace them before Narancia could notice. Not even chewing properly, the sharp edges of the chips scratched his throat on the way down, and he felt humiliating tears begin to slide down his cheeks.

The harpy continues to glare. Then, it outstretches a wing.
His face is nothing but human- a beak-like, hooked nose and pale pink lips not so different from Nikolai’s own. His feathers fade into his humanoid arms when he stretches it out and Nikolai winces when he spots it.
A gunshot wound puncturing right through his wing.
