Killua Zoldyck couldn’t be happier with his life. He’s attending his dream school, living with his sister, pursuing an arts degree, and pissing off his parents via all of the above. With the second semester of his junior year underway, the only thing that could go wrong for him would be failing to get into his dream senior seminar.
Or learning that his sister is newly dating Gon Freecss, the same (only) guy Killua hooked up with back in September and promptly ghosted after being asked to dinner. Or discovering that Gon is also trying to get into the same senior seminar. Or realizing that he really, seriously should have just gone to business school and avoided this whole emotional crisis.
Art is pain and so is life, right?

Gon’s summer is marked by the usual things: half-melted slushies from the 7-11, more closing shifts than he’d like, and an endless parade of girls to have fun with.
He’s thrown for a loop when Killua Zoldyck joins the team at the rental store, and suddenly work is looking a lot different. Killua is an enigma from outside of their small suburban town, and Gon can’t seem to stay away.

Five years without any contact was a long time. The distance had built new walls on top of old wounds. They were still best friends, maybe, but did they really know each other anymore? In an ideal situation, they'd spend some time alone, maybe go on a few small adventures. Take it slow. Rediscover what drew them to each other in the first place.
But Killua had officially decided that the situation was not ideal. In fact, it was so much the opposite that he was going to have an enormous hickey on the inside of his elbow.
Because instead of taking things slow, they were pretending to make out in a closet.
