    Summary

For months, Buck has been professionally harassed over dispatch by one infuriatingly calm operator with a smug voice, a superiority complex, and a deeply concerning habit of calling him sweetheart over an active emergency line.

    Buck hates him.

    Obviously.

Then he meets Eddie Diaz in person and unfortunately discovers that the smug voice comes with stupidly nice hands, unfair eye contact, and a thirteen-year-old son who immediately decides Buck is his problem now.

Worse, Eddie gets weirdly possessive every time someone else looks at Buck too long.

Worse than that, Buck likes it.

And when a bad call turns into a building collapse and Eddie has to listen to Buck trapped beneath it over an open dispatch line, suddenly none of it feels like a joke anymore.

Or: Buck and Eddie fall in love while arguing over city emergency communications, and literally everyone is tired of them.

    Summary

“Chris,” Eddie says, nudging him. “You wanna say hi? Properly?”

Christopher flips him off, discreetly, and then to Theo he says very sweetly, “Hi, Theo.”

Buck’s heart swells to thrice the size of whatever it was, and he’s hit with a rush of love so intense he’s tearing up with it. Eddie’s no better, eyes sparkling.

“Hi,” Theo says, and then presses himself back towards Buck, clutching his spider–man tightly. “You’re Buck’s big best friend.”

Christopher grins. “I am, yeah,” he says, cheesing so hard. “You’re Buck’s tiny best friend, aren’t you?”

    Theo nods shyly. “Yeah.”

Christopher holds out his hand, tilting his head. “I’m Chris,” he says, and Theo takes it, his small hand cradled perfectly in Christopher’s palm. “What’s your name?”

“Hi Kiss,” Theo says, in awe. “My name is Theo.”

    —theo meets the diazes.

    Summary

His lips are softer than Eddie would have thought. He can feel the scruff of his face, the hair poking back out after having not been shaved in almost 24hours. He brings his hand up to cradle his cheek and runs his thumb over it, resting his other hand on Buck’s hip. He pushes slightly deeper into the kiss, wanting to bury himself in Buck. Convince himself that the man is ok.

And it feels good. Better than any kiss Eddie has ever had. Better than any kiss has any right to feel.

    It feels right.

And then Eddie realizes what he’s doing.

    And Eddie panics.

He pulls away so fast, Buck almost seeming to follow him, as if searching for the connection again. Which can’t be right.

Eddie just kissed Buck. In front of everyone. And he liked it.

    Fuck.

    ......

Or; Buck hasn't been doing well since Bobby died. It's all he can think about... except for when he is with Eddie.

Eddie's anxiety has only gotten worse. Especially when it comes to Buck. He wants, maybe even needs, to be around him.

And when a fire leads to an accidental first kiss which leads too...

Buck and Eddie will realize its better to speak then to die.

Buck does look up. Everyone is silent for a moment before Chris breaks the silence.

“Did you guys finally do it?"

    “CHRIS”

    Summary

“I was just thinking about how I’d… y’know,” Buck shrugs. “How I’d get you out.”

Eddie blinks at him. “Of a house fire? You’d probably just pick him up,” he suggests.

“Both of you,” Buck stresses, an adorable, worried crease appearing between his brows. “If I had to get both of you out.”

Or, Buck's pretty sure he could carry Christopher and Eddie out of a house fire at the same time. He'd just really like the test the theory to make sure.

    Summary

"Was the rest of it right?” Buck dares to ask. “Because, Eddie, if he’s right, if - -”

Eddie grabs the paper towel from Buck’s grasp, pressing it to the cut. “If the magic fortune-telling conman correctly guessed that your unrequited gay crush isn’t so unrequited, then what, Buck? You think we’d fall in love? Happily ever after? I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but we don’t get those. I don’t get those. And I’m not - - I don’t - - I’m straight.”

Or, Buck and Eddie stumble upon a tarot reader. He's a little too on the nose for Eddie's comfort.

    Bookmarker's Notes

The man looks up at them, eyes catching on their joint hands.

“Ah!” He winks. “Good. That’s the way it was meant to go. You were on the wrong path,” he says to Eddie. “You fixed it.”

    Eddie glares.

    Buck nudges him.

“Thank you,” Buck smiles. “For your help. He’s actually - - he’s unbelievably gay. I don’t know how he didn’t know.”

    “Buck!”
