———Caelus felt a small drop in the stomach when he looked at his face. He probably was the same age as him but his guarded expression made him look older. His delicate Xianzhou native features were of a striking beauty, but it was his eyes, gray and melancholic, what touched something inside him. He had to make an effort to stop himself from jumping on to the stair railing and hold his chin up to keep on looking at those eyes: Kafka’s coworker, Silver Wolf, had recommended him to behave like a normal person for at least the first 72h of his stay.

Dan Heng has spent thousands of years in isolation, a god haunting a mountain with wards fabricated to keep everyone out. He tends to the land quietly, sowing his guilt into the Earth and cultivating its growth. He does this knowing that the alternative is worse.
If he is lonely, he does not know.
One day, on a normal night, there is a man bleeding out in his flowerbed. Dan Heng once vowed he would never interfere with life again, when he laid his spear down inside another man's chest. But still, he brings the man home and saves him.
