“Please James,” he says earnestly, “you’d win the bet and everything. I just want my brother back.”
“I-I get that, but I’m just not sure how I would be able to help.”
“He looks up to you.” Sirius replies, “you’re the only one who can.”
James Potter finds out his days on earth are numbered, so, in light of being (painfully) single, his friends hatch a bet to find out if he can win somebody's heart by the end of the school year. On a whim, Sirius suggests he try it with his hated and untrusting little brother, Regulus. There's just one problem. Sirius believes the budding romance between them is all for show. Regulus' summers between college years usually consist of walking around Montreal, finding new places to hide from the world and trying his very best to ignore his family. However, this summer is different. His parents are spending it in France and therefore offer him an ultimatum: France with them, or Ontario with Sirius. France is out of the question. Which leaves a glass front lake house in Ontario. A house owned by James Potter's family, Sirius' college best friend, and as far as Regulus is concerned, a total prick.
Drawn magnetically together, James and Regulus embark on a three year long secret situationship. Its casual. Its nothing. Well.... until it isn't, and secrets have a way of worming their way to the surface... eventually.
