Summary
After ramming the sub straight into the Light, Simon wakes up on a strange spaceship with no memory of how he got there. The state of the Hail Mary -spacious, clean, bright and comfortable- can only lead to one conclusion: Simon has somehow been picked up by one of the highest-ranking leaders of the C.O.I.
Luckily, Dr. Grace doesn't seem to recognize him, buying Simon enough time to hatch yet another desperate plan for survival before his identity is discovered. In the meantime, Simon tries his best to stay in the man's good graces (no pun intended), but he's hardly known for his charming personality.
Both of them are in for a bumpy ride.

The man standing in front of him was definitely a clone, alright. His hair was surprisingly shorter than Grace’s had been when he woke up. Maybe he found the scissors already. He had something closer to a beard than stubble. His nose was more crooked than Grace’s. He was wearing some of Grace’s clothes, frankly looking ridiculous in a Cats t-shirt and red jumpsuit tied at his waist.
His expression was surprisingly neutral, hands raised slightly to signify he wasn’t dangerous. “Ry?”
Grace probably looked stupid, mouth opening and closing like a fish.
“It’s me, Colt. Do you remember me?” Colt shifted his weight between his legs, nervous in a way that didn’t seem natural to a man like him.
The words on Grace’s tongue died out. His heart beat faster, his brain reaching for a memory. One second he’s on the Hail Mary, the next he’s back on Earth.

“Robot,” Yào calls out. “How long — how long was I asleep?”
The robot whirrs. “You have been in a medically induced coma for — one hundred — eighty — one — days,” it reports.
Yào’s not as quick at theoretical maths as Dr. Grace or Ilyukhina, but he’s pretty handy with the normal stuff. One hundred and eighty-one days is … just shy of six months. He runs the numbers again, counts them out slower in his head. It’s the same result.
It’s not enough time. It’s not nearly enough time. It’s not even enough time to be completely out of their fucking solar system.

Summary
Simon swivels to face the rear of the sub and nearly chokes. The camera control panel is gone. The wall that replaces it is twice the distance away that it should be and cluttered with netting bags and some kind of glass-paneled construction. The wall is brightly lit, and lines that seem to run the length of it are at a diagonal intersection with the floor panels under Simon's feet.
Has he crashed into the SM-8 somehow? Or did the dropship pick him up when he was submerged in blood in the crawlspace? That would make things a hell of a lot easier, and explain why the engine isn't running anymore.
But no – the depth gauge was still firmly in the red when he just looked at it. Simon risks a glance over his shoulder to confirm, and notes that the oxygen meter has all four lights lit up. That must mean he’s on the COI dropship...right?
“Hello? Is anyone – oh!” A voice speaks, and Simon moves.

A few hundred years after Ryland Grace and Rocky save their stars from Astrophage and turn Ryland into an Eridian through an old Earth Project called the Avatar Program, the Eridians set out towards Earth in hopes of establishing an alliance with the aliens. On the edge of Jupiter, however, Grace ends up in a faulty escape pod and crash-lands on Pandora. Stranded on an alien world, Grace must survive until his fellow Eridians can come pick him up from the moon.
Now, if only he could convince the residents of the moon not to kill him first. -

Grace was content with how his life was going. Sure, he was light years away from Earth and all the other humans. But he was alive, he had a best friend and a whole planet that cared for his happiness and well-being. He got to teach once more and had a beautiful view that was created just for him.
But he was lonely. He had Rocky and the other Eridians of course, but he could really do with a cat or something to cuddle and love. Not that anything like that was going to happen -
Wait, why was the ocean bubbling? Was that a voice? Light? What was happening?!
