Or in which Vecna won, Hawkins is under quarantine while the government waits for the apocalypse to start, and Steve and Robin are once again working the shittiest minimum wage jobs while the rest of the Party figures out how to save the day. Then some strange things begin to happen while Steve works the night shifts… some things just won’t stay dead…

Aventurine sees the world as one grand gamble, where people are merely chips in his hands. Sunday sees himself as an ideal instrument of Heaven, bound to a mission with no room for failure.

Still sorta annoyed, Boothill grumbled, “You’re makin’ it sound like a bad thing.”
Aventurine laughed so suddenly he seemed to almost surprise himself. “A bad thing? Hah! Not at all.” He ran a hand, shining with gold, through his hair. “Not at all.”
After a hostile takeover gets a little…hostile, Aventurine needs to lay low for a few weeks. Luckily, Boothill’s willing to lend a helping hand.

Futaba closes the door again for some thinking time. That was Goro Akechi on her doorstep. Well, on Sojiro’s doorstep, but Sojiro’s not here. Only Futaba is here.
Open door. Peep round it. Akechi is a sort of heap on the step. Asleep? Or… possibly dead? Dead mom-killing ex-detective on Futaba’s doorstep? Didn’t he die four years ago? How is he here? Futaba hasn’t slept. Or eaten. She shouldn’t have to deal with this. What do you even do with a murder-detective possibly-corpse? She closes the door.
Okay, no, she can’t just ignore him and hope he goes away.
Well, she could though. It’s super super tempting.
No, come on. What would Ren do? What would Sojiro do?
What would Mom do?
