Summary
Billy Hargrove rolls into Hawkins, Indiana in the fall of 1984 smelling like a fight and looking like trouble, and Steve Harrington is approximately the ten thousandth person to believe it.
He's wrong. Steve Harrington is also, unfortunately for both of them, the first.
The suppressants are failing. The Upside Down is waking up. Neil Hargrove is watching. And Steve — Dom Alpha, King of Hawkins, recently single and deeply unqualified for any of this — has decided, apparently, that Billy Hargrove is his problem now.
Billy has opinions about that. Most of them are said very loudly and then immediately contradicted by his own biology.

Summary
Billy Hargrove has been performing Alpha since he was old enough to understand what Neil would do if he didn't. New town, same mask. Hawkins is just another stage.
What he didn't count on: the boy he left behind in California showing up. Steve Harrington noticing things he wasn't supposed to notice. And something under his skin that has been waiting a very long time to wake up.

Summary
Steve turns abruptly, watching Tommy’s cold grin that makes him look almost angry. Tommy always hated Nancy and made sure that Steve knew. Steve can see it written all over his face.
Then he catches Billy Hargrove's eyes. They're intense.
Hargrove holds Steve’s gaze with cold, cold eyes, the rest of his face emotionless. Then he bares his teeth, grinning and licking his lips in a way that makes him look nothing but crazy and dangerous. It makes Steve’s stomach turn a little, twist sharply. Makes his skin tingle.
Or:
A (very) slow burn of Steve and Billy clashing and dancing around each other. Upside Down stuff happens, making everything harder (easier?) for the two of them. Also, Tommy Hagan has a crush on Steve Harrington and doesn't know how to handle it.
